With our northern neighbors currently braving severe snow storms and below-freezing temperatures, Naples residents have been warned that the area is at risk of a “sun-in.”

The local forecast calls for days upon days of bright sun, tropical temperatures, and gentle breezes – in other words, the usual. As opposed to a “snow-in,” where residents are urged to stay indoors and away from the cold, Southwest Florida citizens have been asked to prepare for the “sun-in” by stocking up on hot dogs, barbecue equipment, bathing suits, mojitos, sunscreen, and watermelon.

Experts agree that the best course of action for the sun-in is to quickly and efficiently evacuate to Naples’ famous beaches. In order to get the most out of this dangerously relaxing and

Paseo, the 8-time consecutive winner of the Community of the Year award, has begun to construct a new building of townhomes that will be the 9th in the community. A 10th is slated to be built starting at the end of 2013.

This new building will house six luxury units that each boast breathtaking lakefront views, and are priced starting at the low $200s. The units are offered on multiple floor plans, each coming with front porches or balconies that are perfect for enjoying the warm Southwest Florida climate, and the design places the garages in the rear so residents have immediate access to their front doors from the sidewalks.

Next to one of Paseo’s lakefront parks are is the new townhome building, giving residents fantastic views of the water, as

They’re like furry extensions of family, and we treat them as such – between taking professional photos, going on grooming weekends, and feeding delectable foods, our pets are certainly a part of our lives.

You put a lot of work into keeping your home safe for your family, and doing the same for your pets is important too. But there are many more considerations to take care of when you’re pet-proofing your home. Besides making sure your smoke detectors are working, your locks are functional, and no chemicals are leaking into your home, you now need to look at the process from a four-legged perspective. Here are some tips for keeping your little loved ones as safe and happy as possible:

  • Choking hazards aren’t just for kids

In sunny Naples, there isn’t too much of a winter season – but that doesn’t mean you can let your home’s curb appeal slack off when the days get shorter.

It can be easy to put off doing exterior maintenance once the cold weather kicks in, but it’s still something that needs to be done. There are countless ways to keep your home in tip-top shape during the chillier months, and still give it a winter flair that fits the holiday season. Here’s what you can do:

  • Fresh coats of paint

The leaves on the trees are starting to thin out as the temperature goes down, and that means any imperfections of your home’s exterior are going to be magnified. Chips and cracks in the paint will stand out, so take an afternoon to do some touch-ups and your

When you’re selling your home, there are countless little things around that can drive your price down. If you can get an idea of what people want, and what people expect to see, you can get yourself ahead of the game in getting your home market-ready.

While there are some things that you can’t do anything about (you won’t exactly be moving your entire home to a more desirable location), there are certainly things that you can control. Here are some common threats to your home’s value that you can stave off before you sell:

  • Lack of updates

This is one that can actually do more damage than good sometimes – if you drop a huge amount of money on a brand new kitchen, there is always the chance it doesn’t bring in more money than you

With its 8th consecutive Community of the Year award in the books for 2013, Paseo has sealed its reputation as being one of the best and most desirable communities in the entire country. And now it has added two more buildings of townhomes to its ranks.

The new buildings have 6 units in each, and offer a variety of floor plans that come with multiple front porches or balconies for truly enjoying the beautiful Southwest Florida weather. The design of the townhomes places the garages in the rear, giving residents direct access to their front doors and giving the buildings an attractive façade that isn’t cluttered. Brick paver sidewalks stretch around the communities and provide gorgeous lake views as you jog, walk the dog, or just go out for a

It’s no fluke – for  the ninth consecutive year, the Creek Course at Fiddler’s Creek in Naples has been ranked in prestigious Golfweek Magazine’s “Top 100 Residential Golf Courses throughout the United States.” The hugely popular Arthur Hills-designed course is the only one in Southwest Florida to earn this achievement nine years in a row.

The Creek Course is an 18-hole, par-72 masterpiece that was designed to be integrated seamlessly with the luxury community of Fiddler’s Creek in which it resides. It plays in perfect harmony with the natural surroundings of the flawlessly maintained landscaping, and the course continuously tiptoes the line between being challenging and being fun for all ages and skill levels.

It’s not ideal, but sometimes when the big moving day arrives, good help can be hard to find. If you’re faced with an entire move on your own, or even just a few hours until some heavy lifters can assist you, it may be tempting to call it off and reschedule.

But there are more things in the average home that can be moved by a single person than you might expect. Using the right technique and strategy, you can clear out the majority of your home or apartment without breaking a sweat. Here’s how:

  • If it can be taken apart, take it apart

This doesn’t mean remove the nuts and bolts on everything you own – it’s as simple and easy as taking the drawers out of a dresser before attempting to move it. There is a lot of extra weight on nearly

It’s been dutifully there for you, every year, for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter…and if you’re like most people, not much else.

The average dining room is generally not used for much more than the occasional holiday meal. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it does mean that you probably have that beautiful space in your home that isn’t being used to its full potential. Do you ditch the dining room entirely, or maybe turn it into a more appropriate entertaining area, or even add another bedroom to your home? Anything could work, but the only thing that ultimately matters is what works best for you. Here are a few dining room-conversion ideas to get you started:

  • Strictly entertainment

If you’re the type of person who entertains on

If you’re getting ready to show your home for the first time, the process can be a little intimidating. Getting your home cleaned up, and knowing just what to clean up and how much, is invaluable knowledge that could give your home the edge over the rest of the market.

There are many common places you’ll want to look when you’re scouring the home for things to tidy up. But there are also several not-so-common places where the clutter can pile up – and here they are:

  • The top of the refrigerator

The space is generally occupied by things that couldn’t find a home elsewhere in the kitchen. So, they’re relegated to the top spot and (generally) forgotten about. There usually won’t be too much to clean up from here, but getting this
