Floridians Adjusting To The Cold

Brrrr! Teeth gritting cold had really invaded warm and sunny Florida early this year. Many Floridians have felt the brunt of the cold early this January. Drastic changes in temperature have caused the temperature to drop of more than 30 degrees and even lower across Florida. You can see commuters huddle up in their jackets, sweatshirts, and scarves while waiting for the train or bus. There are also a number of patients being rushed to the hospital for complaints of cold-related illnesses. These frigid air masses have caused drastic changes in the Floridian lifestyle.

The month of January 2014 is considered as the coldest month this century. On the 7th of January, Floridians have experienced freezing temperatures that went down around as 18 degrees. There are even pictures of icicles forming on bumpers of vehicles. Actually, these freezing temperatures were also felt across the nation. Students went back to school after the holiday break and felt the real cold of winter. Even the turtles in some of aquatic center have to bundle up and be covered in layers of towels.

However, January is almost coming to an end and it is still cold. We all know that the Florida boasts of warm beach weather during the month of February. The usual warm weather felt during this month averages at mid 70s. Many are contemplating if this cold weather will affect the number of visitors that flock to Florida on a yearly basis for its warm weather. Well this might not be the case. Even with the temperature dropping to 30s, there are still a lot of surfers who are trying to catch the waves in the famous Florida beaches.

Many Floridians like the change in the weather but for some it is too chilly. Many are keeping a positive mind that the warm Florida weather will be back in the weeks to come.
