There’s a reason why Southwest Florida is the premier destination, year in and year out, for snowbirds looking for some sun and fun – when the weather is as good as it is here in Naples, the city becomes irresistible.
And if a day on the water isn’t your speed, the local parks are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the warm sun, friendly people, and green grass. There are plenty of parks to see, so here are a few that stick out as some of the best around:
Lowdermilk Park Located just minutes North of the quaint streets of Olde Naples, Lowdermilk Park combines the beautiful scenery of the Gulf coast beaches with a quiet charm created by lush grass shaded by tall palms. There is both metered and unmetered parking available for everyone, as well as concession stands to satisfy your hunger. Plus, the kids will love playing in the two children’s playgrounds, and the two gazebos for rent are the perfect place for hosting a relaxing picnic with the whole family.
Naples Preserve This self-guided nature walk and park will amaze you with its breathtaking views and stunning variety of active plant and animal life. Low boardwalks snake throughout the 9 ½ acre property, giving you an up-close and personal experience with the native trees and greenery of Southwest Florida, and the local wildlife is sure to make an appearance. But you’ll have to hurry – the peak season for viewing the incredible wildflowers is between August and September.
Fleischmann Park For a day of fun and energy, this beautiful and busy park is the perfect place to start. With everything from multiple sports facilities to playgrounds for kids of all ages, Fleischmann Park is fitting for the whole family. The 15 acres of land is flush with things to do, including 4 lighted racquetball courts, 3 lighted softball fields, 2 lighted basketball courts, several picnic pavilions, and more. Plus, the community center is home to recreation classes that include martial arts, gymnastics, creative arts, dance, and more.
